Children’s Speech and Language Therapist

Specialising in early social communication

Ever since I discovered the positive impact that speech and language therapy can have on children with communication differences, I have been passionate about empowering families to support their children in finding their voice and achieving their true potential.

After a career break to raise my own family, I decided to pursue my dream of studying speech and language therapy at Manchester Metropolitan University. Once qualified, I worked for over a decade with the NHS, specialising in children’s speech and language therapy. The rewards of working together with families and helping children to communicate inspired me to move into independent practice.

To complement existing NHS services, I began offering speech and language multi-sensory play sessions for families in my local community. It was an absolute joy and privilege to witness wonderful moments of communication coming to life as families enhanced their little ones’ communication journey.

However, more recently, I have become increasingly aware of the demand from families for specialist social communication support. So, I decided to return to my studies, and in early 2024, I completed the Level 2 Qualification in Paediatric Autism Communication Therapy (PACT). To support this, I am developing my understanding of Gestalt Language Processing. Additionally, I am a certified facilitator of the Brick-by-Brick® programme.

I am excited for this next chapter of my speech and language therapy journey.
